The Jackson Hole Anglers Fly Fishing Report is updated often throughout the season. Please check here regularly for current fishing conditions, what the trout are feeding on, and flies to use.
Snake River:
The Snake River is on fire right now! Fish are rising readily along seams, near the banks, and in the riffles. As the cooler fall weather approaches the fantastic fishing should continue. A variety of flies are working right now including hoppers, Royal Wulffs, Para Adams, and many more. A drift boat is the best way to fish the Snake River.
Snake River Tributaries:
The tribs are clear and fishing great. There has been fantastic action with Para Adams and Attractor patterns
Green River:
The Green River has dropped significantly and the fishing has slowed. If you are going to fish the Green, get out there early. By mid-day the water temps are getting very high.
Flat Creek:
Flat Creek is now open and as is typical, the large fish are in there but finiky. There is action on hoppers, ants, and small mayflies. This is difficult fishing. We suggest fine tippets and very delicate presentations. We offer guided wade fishing trips here, so give us a call to set up a day an this famous water.
Firehole River:
Fishing on the Firehole has been slow. Hatches of PMD's have been occuring mid-day, and the caddis have been coming out later in the afternoon. Nymph fishermen have been doing well with Pheasant Tails and Barr's Emergers. As the cooler fall weather sets in, fishing should pick up again.
