We headed out Lockwoods Folly inlet at 7:00am headed to the Horseshoe area to try our luck with the bluefin tuna. After an hours run, we trolled for about 3 hours dragging horse "hoo's" fishing the water column from 3 to 15 fathoms with a spread of six lines. Nadda fish was interested. We only heard on one hook-up on the radio and it broke off. So we went to plan A-2. The tower.

This was supposed to be a "mate" training trip anyway so I didn't mind moving. After my first mate, Mariah, finished teaching Drew how to rig cigar minnows for King's it was on. We had two to hook up before she (he) could get all six lines in the water. We were trolling at about 1.5 – 2 knots and were south of the tower. After it was all said and done, we (they) had put 8 kings in the boat. They were nothing to write home about, in the 17-20 lb range, but it was a great training day and a great day on the water.
