Last nite we did some scouting on John's Lake for start doing nite trips to help people gain a better shot at some big bass and avoid the heat. We had arrived at the ramp by 6:45 pm and headed to our first area, with some day light still left we quickly rigged up a drop shot rod using the Gitem Drop bait.

Picking up 3 quick bass in the cut by the Horseshoe area before darkness fell upon us. With very cloudy skies, and having dealt with rains most of the day, we figured it would still be a tough night run, especially since it was a New Moon and very light breeze, and we were right. Baits used Monday night were Black Spinner baits, buzz baits and 10 inch black neon worms. We fished until roughly 11 pm picking up one here and there before calling it a nite.

John's Lake is a gem of a lake which reminds some of more a northen type lake, with areas of deeper water and bass that will fight as if they were smallmouth bass. Till my next report, tight lines and great fishing!
