Today we were able to get Doug and Eric together to share a float trip down the bow from Police to Mac. Eric had done an overnight trip with us last year when the fishing had been very tough so I was bound and determined to get him into fish today, and that we did.
Doug started out streamer fishing as he is a big streamer fan and Eric started with the nymphing set up. Through the day we took some nice rainbows and Doug got a nice brown as well on the streamer set up but the real story and entertainment of the day was the dry fly fishing. I stalked the banks looking for snouts and we found fish feeding aggressively on caddis. Both Eric and Doug hooked some great fish on the dries but the majority of the fish either broke them off or spit the hook. Eric hooked a gorgeous 23-24" brown that I had seen last night with other guests, but the fish broke him off which was too bad. Nothing like casting to big rising fish in the setting sun...
