Justin and his father Shane joined us for a float trip down the bow today. We floated from policeman's flats to Mackinnon flats again. Justin has been going to school in Montana so he has been fishing a bunch of Montana fisheries so we had to show him how the bow compares to his Montana fishery. Justin's first fish to start the day was one of the best trout he had ever seen in his life. It was simply another beautiful 19 inch average bow river rainbow. So Justin was impressed right from the get go. The fishing just kinda stayed steady from there. Justin and his father were into fish throughout the day. Before lunch both Justin and his father had a double header with two big browns on. Shane lost his but Justin was able to land his and it was a football of a brown that was a gorgeous fish that absolutely rattled Justin's cage after being used to some of the fish he'd caught in Montana. He was pretty impressed to see just what type of quality we have in the bow here. Justin was yelling and screaming loud enough that all his buddies down in Montana probably heard him when he hooked this fish and it took to the air the first time. It was a pretty entertaining fish. The rest of the day was much of the same the fishing slowed down a little bit in the afternoon with the heat we were having but as it approached the evening we started fishing hopper droppers and took several fish that way too. Once again we pulled into the boat launch with a fish hooked up so it's a pretty nice way to end the day when you can start the day and you've got a fish already when you still see boat launch at the put in and you've got a fish on when you pull into the boat launch for take out. Another pretty remarkable day on the bow.
