Kabetogama/Namakan Fishing Report 10/26/08

A typical mixed bag of weather week didn't stop anglers or seriously affect their success.

Walleyes seem to be the main target for most folks, and at the time they offer the best bite.

Anglers report jig and minnow working well at either side of 35', use a light colored jig and slow strokes.

Remember to return deep fish slowly, as it will increase their chance of survival when released.

Very little crappie action to report and pike anglers have shifted their efforts towards walleyes.

Anglers are happy to be catching saugers along with walleyes and an occasional pike takes the bait.

Boat traffic is nearly non-existent now, however, use caution on the water as rock markers have been removed.

Grouse hunting keeps improving as cover diminishes. Sportsmen preparing their deer stands are enjoying this bonus that leads to their grouse dinner.
