Kabetogama/Namakan Fishing Report 11/26/07
Over the past week, fishing on the waters of our lakes appears to have ended. Shorelines have iced up, shallow bays iced over and next week has a cold outlook.
Launch ramps become treacherous with slippery surfaces, if you do get a boat in or out.
Hunting and trapping garners all the attention these days, grouse hunters finding an occasional bird, deer hunters, armed with bow or muzzleloaders are all searching for a big buck with some sow to track.
Trappers who have been thinning out the beaver population have focused their attention on fisher and marten as the season has been shortened to nine days.
It is still mandatory to wear blaze orange in the woods if you are trapping or hunting and a good idea to wear it if you are just enjoying nature where hunters maybe near.
Bone up on the new ice fishing regs, the season is upon us.
Spearing on most the northern MN lakes opens December 1st, check new regulations.
It appears many bays on Kabetogama may have ice for the opener, it is still iffy, but with mid-week cold temperatures it could happen.
Feel free to call and check.
Have a Great Day!
