Kabetogama/Namakan Fishing Report 2/22/09

Kabetogama 2008 season has come to an end. Many folks tried different areas and methods to land a few walleyes and northerns to little or no avail.

Fishing was slow, but a few crappies have been caught so that bite may be upcoming.

Fortunately for us here in the northland, Our Canadian border lakes have an extended season to take advantage of.

As the ice conditions continue to improve, getting access to your favorite spot in Namakan or Sandpoint should be considered for closing out the season.

Crappie bite might bot be far off for all three lakes, plain hook or light jigs with a small minnow or minnow head at 30' could be a winner.

Snowmobile trails are in excellent shape, land trails have a good 25" base that's been grooming up nicely. If the weather holds, we may have a couple more weeks of great sledding.

See you yet this winter...
