A late phone call on Saturday for a trip to Mosquito Lagoon for some redfish action by two fine fisherman from Kentucky, had me out on the water around an hour after daybreak. Not being in a hurry had no effect on the fishing, even with a parking lot full of trucks and empty boat trailers when we headed out.

Reds have been in this area for the past 2 weeks with the low water levels. A large sandy section of the backwaters stretching 40 yards long and 10 yards wide with rolling reds havin' a good old time in this location.

As boates passed us during the 4 hour trip, we caught one fish after another. Nobody seemed interested in this spot litteraly less than 5 minutes from the boat ramp. Less ride to the fishing hole = more time fishin'!!

Another fine day on the Lagoon with 2 great guys doing battle with their first reds. We boated over 20 redfish with 3 oversize, the largest was just barely over 34".

Thanks guys, you were super company out there and good job with the few times you doubled up!!
