Line-sides Fishing is GREAT right now. Striper fishing has really change in the past week. The water Temp. Finally hit the magic number of 55 degrees and with that the top water action has taken off. Flat-lines and Planner Boards are working GREAT right at sun up Threadfin and Gizzard shad are working good. By mid-day change over to down-lines . But Trout seems to be out fishing shad 3 to 1 right now. The DUGOUT in Marietta has Trout right now. Give them a call at 770 428-7406
Mid-lake is still the place to be. There are tons of fish between Kellogg Creek and Stamp Creek right now. This is the only part of the lake I have needed to fish in the past 3 weeks. There may be some fish up in Allatoona Creek I just haven't been that far south in weeks.
Trolling has been by far the best bite on the water after the sun comes up..Dec and Jan are 2 of the only months of the year that trolling will out product live bait fishing sometimes as much as 7 to1 in a full day trip. This is the time of the year you have to be universal when it comes to striper fishing. I prefer live bait fishing over trolling but there are just sometimes of the year that trolling just can't be beat. And that time is right now. The Mack Farr u-rig is the only way to go if you are trolling. And color does make a different right now. And the Capt. Mack rigs with white jigs and chartreuse trailers are working best right now. Top water The top water bite is really starting to heat up. The best time to take a Monster stripers off the top is right at sun up. And just before dark. These fish aren't as picky as the fish at Lanier.( Not as much fishing pressure ) they with hit anything you throw at them. When they are feeding on top.
I still got a few good days open for Christmas vacation . So give me a call and lets take the kids fishing. Remember Kids under the age of 12 fish free with paying adults ( 2 kids max. per trip )
