Water clarity is fairly clear in the main lake but stained in some of the major creeks due to the recent rains. Water level is 8.28ft low and kinda holding steady. Labor day they start the winter drawdown process so it will continue to fall to 18ft until between xmas and new years.

Today I got out on the lake with Bill Payne out of Adairsville area. This weather has been kinda put a damper on the patterns I have been running recently and today was no different and was fairly tough day for the big fish. We started off with topwater and had a tough start the first hour. WE finally hit a pocket full of some fish and caught several and landed the largemouth in the picture on a sammy 100. Bill also had a behmoth of a fish knock the snot out of his sammy but didn't connect on it. Today was a junk fish day. We caught fish on jerkbaits, topwater, dropshot, senkos and bama rig and a few of these baits mustered up a couple of spots almost 2lbs. Again the key for us was to put the T motor on high and cover as much water as possible to find concentrations of active fish. The schoolers are ALL OVER the lake. Problem is they don't stay up very long at all. I'm throwing a bama type rig with an 11 ft long distance casting rod to get the schooling fish within the 80 yd range and having some success (hey someone has to play hardball with the fishies!!) :)~.

Some guys on the Allatoona forum wanted me to do a seminar on a multitude of topics pertaining to fishing Allatoona. So I decided to open it up to the public and rent out the Red Top Lodge banquet room. The seminar will be on Oct 7th (Saturday) from 4-8 (arrive 3:30ish). Topics will be Swimbaits on Allatoona, Sonar Interpretation, dropshot, Patterning Largemouth on Toona just to name a few to help everyone get ready for the fall/winter bite. Lots of prizes and donations will be given away. Click on the link for more info and directions to the banquet room.

I have over 80 Lucky Craft baits to hand out, 24lbs of Yamamoto Plastics, Mini Me Spinnerbaits from SOB Lures, Fluorocarbon line from Triple Fish and a big box from Uncle Josh/Bass Stalker Jigs as FREE handouts at the seminar with more in the works.
