Line side fishing is great and the upper Etowah is without question the best bite on the lake. I got e-mails and phone calls from different anglers who have been wearing them out up there, anywhere from Fields Landing all the way up to the ball field in Canton. I have heard of some really good fish caught up there this week. Congratulations to Tim S. Tim caught a very nice striper up north this week that weight in at 34 pounds. But with the river run being so strong this year, so is the boat traffic. So with that being said, I decided to stay south of mid lake, and I've been doing very well. All of the main creeks are holding fish, and so are the beaches. The water temp is in the mid 60s so this is prime for top water. Free-lines, flat-lines and planer boards are working best. Top water is getting very good right at sun up and right at dark. A 3/8-ounce bucktail will get bit all most every time if you can get it to these busting fish. For you trollers, the Mack Farr u-rig bite is starting to pick up. A 3-arm loaded with 3/8-ounce jig will get your drags pulled. I've got just a few days left open for May, so call me before there all gone. And remember Kids under 10 years old fish for free with paying adults.( 2 kids max ). If you like to talk striper fishing then you need to visit my fishing forum. This site is kid friendly and has a lot of Great guys on it. www.lakeallatoonafishing.net
