November is well under way for this report. I have not been fishing shallow much but when I have, the three main techniques

that have put fish in the boat are a spinner bait ,rattle trap, and a wacky worm.

The lake is full of some of the best hydrilla I have seen in years. We have been fishing a Frank Johnson Limit Getter and a

½ oz white spinner bait .Best areas are secondary points where the grass tapers from about 3 to 10 foot . The Rattle trap

And spinner bait is best thrown when the wind is blowing . The Wacky worm is great when the wind is not blowing fished around the

Same grass lines and will keep you getting bit. Best color has been Red Bug. However my time spent shallow has been limited . There are schools of fish feeding deep Right now , you can get right in a hurry on the right school of fish . Therefore most my time is spent chasing these schools. I find I can catch more and larger fish following these schools Of roaming bass Of fish that follow large schools of shad and barfish.

One day last week we had a 8.9 # 6.11 # 6.10# and about a dozen between 2 to 6 lbs

There are still a lot of fish shallow due to the new water and improved grass and warm water temps .

But as it gets colder more fish will bunch up on the deep structure . I have seen a few fish blow up on shad and this should also get better as the water cools to about 55 degrees . So here is my spill on deep fall fishing Number one, Finding the food source,( Shad and yellow bass) is the first step to finding trophy bass. Start your search on road beds, deep points, and humps don't stop your boat until you have found baitfish and or bass on top of the piece of structure you are looking at. When you do drive past the baitfish or bass and drop a buoy so you can stay with the fish, now load up a rod with 17lb fluorocarbon and a Frank Johnson ½ spoons. This is first choice for fall fish, throw over the school of fish and let sink all the way to the bottom then hop up and let the lure fall on slack line this is when you'll get the bite.

We have been bit on the 6 inch flutter spoons ,little Georges ,and the sidewinder . During this time of the year you can catch fish on the bottom at 25ft deep and catch them on the surface in the same spot 5 minutes later that's what makes fall fishing so fun.

Keep a rod with a weighted Super Fluke in the smoking shad color . This combination seems to fall at the right speed and has the right profile.

Good fall fishing I have my 07 Skeeter team boat for sale call 903-312-0609 for more info.

Everyone have a great Thanksgiving
