Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 7/12/08
This week on Guntersville has showed signs of a typical summer time pattern. The bigger bass are deep and hard to find, the mid day bite is slow and the top water bites is furious.
After about 12 weeks of great fishing all day long we are falling into a summer time pattern. Fishing is still strong just limited to some specific times of the day and deeper fish. If you work at it you can still find a good 20 lb. stringer you just have to fish harder and deeper during the mid part of the day.
The water temperature is in the mid to high 80's and there is less current or water flow so you're midday bite needs some hard work to find the fish. The best pattern all week was on top water after that fishing was tougher. I stayed mainly in the mid lake this week fishing over the grass early in the day and deep 15 to 25 feet during the heat of the day. We caught on an average of 15 to 25 fish a day with the biggest fish all week around 6 pounds.
July and August are great times for my 3-hour Top Water Excursions, so far they produces many bites, some good fish and some good fun. Please call for details I offer these every evening and morning and have several dates open!
