Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 9/27/08
This past week on Guntersville was just excellent for numbers, the bass were active catching 20 to 50 fish a day, and strikes were fierce and often. We are moving into a typical fall pattern catching a lot of bass, size is a little smaller but the number of opportunities is picking up! If you want to get strikes all day long you just need to get on the water and you will be successful!
We spent most of the week up river above Goosepond where the grass is still a little thicker; we worked grass lines, points, old roadbeds and creeks and caught fish at just about every stop! The fish have also bunched up and when you caught one you had several opportunities in a row to catch more.
Most of the success this past week was on crank-baits, although we fished Mister Twister worms, Tight-line jigs and Punisher Spinner baits and caught fish on all of them. It's the time of year that just about any moving bait will put fish in the boat.
The fall is looking fairly typical and should continue to get better and better until the end of October, or we get some cold weather. It appears we have had another great spawn and the small fish will continue to help the bite.
Come fish with me I have days available to fish with you!
