Comments: 2010 could not be starting out any better! In 1997, I was lucky enough to fish Lake Huites and thought I'd never see that kind of bass fishing duplicated on Huites. But for some unknown reason, Santa Claus has given us plenty of Mexican largemouth bass to keep us entertained at Lake Huites. The recent group returning reported the same kind of fishing I had back in 1997 - hundreds of 5 to 7 lb. bass, anchored down across points and in the middle of creek channels and never moving from one location and catching bass after bass after black bass. Canyon Number Two produced in excess of 50 fish over 6 lbs. in two short hours, according to Mexico's top guide, Manuel Salazar. We can only assume that from this day forward, fishing is only going to get better this spring.
