STRIPERS
The striper fishing is great on Lake Lanier right now. Our boats are catching many fish on down line blue backs fished from 40-60 feet deep over a 70-100 ft bottom. There are fish in the mouth to the middle of Flowery Branch, Flat, Orr, 4 Mile, 6 mile, 2 mile, Big Creek, and in the stretch from Browns Bridge up to Gainesville Marina. The night bite is fair using down line blue backs under the Hydro-glow light. The late morning lead core bite is really good using a 1.5 oz. chartreuse and blue jig with a chartreuse trailer, 8 colors out at 3.0 mph. Troll these baits over the creek channels in the areas mentioned above. You can purchase blue backs at Hammond's Fishing and Boat Storage (770-888-6898) and at The Dam store (770-932-2031).
Bass
The bass fishing is good on Lake Lanier right now. Candy Hammond said they have gotten many good reports from folks using Sammies, jerk baits, and smoking green finesse worms. The nighttime Bill Norman crank bait bite is strong using the dark red and dark blue.
Crappie
We have had many reports of people using minnows around bridges and docks under the Hydroglow light. You can expect to catch crappie, white bass, and small stripers under the light.
