Lake Ray Roberts Fishing Report,
Lake Ray Roberts is about 3 inches over normal level and water is being released at 1100 cfs. Water temperature is 53 to 55 and stained in most areas of the lake. White bass fishing is good with fish on deep humps, points, roads and ridges in 22 to 40 feet. The only baits we use for deep sand bass are Cotton Cordell 3/4 oz. CC Spoons in chrome color with a Flies-By-Night chartreuse fly tied 14 inches above the spoon. We have a lot of birds on the lake now but they are not always active. Best way to find feeding fish is look on structure with your electronics. Really knowing what your electronics is showing you is very important this time of year. Sometimes the fish are laying right on the bottom and are hard to see. When you find fish this time of year they will not always bite. If you are persistent and move around the lake looking for active biting fish you can fill the ice chest. We are mainly fishing on the east arm of the lake from Isle du Bois State Park to Wolf Island but the west arm of the lake has many good places to fish as well. Give me a call or send me an email if you are looking to catch a bunch of Ray Roberts sand bass this Winter. I have gift certificates available that make great Christmas Gifts.
Have fun fishing,
Tim
