LAKE RAY ROBERTS FISHING REPORT
Lake Ray Roberts is down 6 feet from normal level and down 3 feet from this time last year. Water temperature is 61 degrees on the main lake and pushing 70 degrees
in the back of the creeks in the afternoon. Bass fishing has picked up the last couple days with the warming water temperatures. Most of the fish are in shallow grass with wood mixed in 2 to 6 feet deep. Best baits Yum dinger and Yum wooly bug in junebug color rigged weightless or with a light weight. Fish are in all phases of the spawn right now depending what area of the lake you are in. I am always looking for prespawners that are aggressive and have just moved up shallow. Sand bass fishing is very good with fish
on deep structure on the main lake and schooling under birds at the mouths of the creeks north of Wolf Island. When they are under the birds you can catch them on about anything you want to throw, crankbaits, jigs, and top waters. Best all around bait for these fish is Cotton Cordell CC spoon 3/4 oz. chrome with a Flies-By-Night jig tied about a foot above the spoon. You can get info about getting these jigs at www.flies-by-night.com. Call or email me for trip or updated info on Lake Ray Roberts fishing.
Good luck fishing,
Tim
