Lake Ray Roberts Fishing Report
Lake Ray Roberts is at normal level of 632.50 and water temperatures are 63 to 67 degrees. Fishing has been very good the last couple weeks and so has the weather making for some great days on the water. We have been catching largemouth bass in the shallow vegetation in 2 to 4 feet of water. 3/16th oz. White spinner baits have worked well and Yum dingers 4" in junebug color. The topwater bite has slowed this past week but we are still catching a few on Super Spook Jrs. in Lake Fork shad color. As always this time of year, find the shad and you will find the fish. Sand bass fishing is very good also and we are catching easy limits everytrip. Fish are on the main lake structure that they will use all winter. There is some birds around but they have not been working much. I pretty much ignore the birds from now til Spring and find active fish on humps, roads, points and drop offs in 25ft. to 35ft. from Isle du Bois State Park to Wolf Island on the east arm of the lake. Cotton Cordell CC Spoon 3/4 oz. chrome with a Flies-By-Night jig in sea geen color tied 14" above the spoon is what we are catching them on. Catfish are still with the sand bass and we have caught as many as 11 on a trip on the sand bass baits. .Its a great time to fill the freezer with fish or get enough for a big fish fry.
Have fun fishing,
Tim
