LAKE RAY ROBERTS FISHING REPORT
Lake Ray Roberts is 3 feet lower than normal level with water temperatures 56 to 64 degrees. Large mouth bass fishing is good. We are catching them in the backs of creeks and coves with junebug color Yum Dingers fished with no weight or a light weight. Another pattern that is working is using an Excalibur XR50 in Rayburn Red and fishing secondary points and flats for pre-spawn fish.
Sand bass fishing is very good we are fishing humps, points, roads, and ridges from Isle du Bois State Park to Wolf Island on the east arm of the lake and some places near the mouths of the creeks north of Wolf Island. Best depth lately has been 28 to 30 feet. There is a lot of birds around the lake and they can show you where the sandies are feeding. Have seen the birds working on shallow points near the mouths of creeks this week. Catching all our white bass on Cotton Cordell CC Spoons chrome 3/4 oz. with a Flies-By-Night fly tied 14 inches above the spoon. Its a great time to get young people on the lake, catching a bunch of white bass is a good way to get them hooked on fishing. Call or email soon if you want a Spring fishing trip on Ray Roberts, weekend dates are going fast.
Have fun fishing,
Tim
