Lake Ray Roberts White Bass Fishing Report
White bass fishing is very good on Lake Ray Roberts in the winter and these fish are on a strong winter pattern. We are catching limits every trip and the fish are the biggest of the year in Winter. The best way to catch a bunch of fish is to find them on your electronics near the bottom and vertical jig for them. We are fishing both arms of the main lake looking on points, humps, roads and ridges for active feeding fish. A Cotton Cordell CC Spoon chome color with a Flies-By-Night fly tied 14 inches above the spoon is the best bait I have found to catch sand bass on Ray Roberts. In the cold water situation that we have now, with water temps in the low 50's, good knowledge of what your electronics are telling you is a must. Most of the time now the fish are laying on the bottom of the lake and you need to use at least a 4X zoom to see them. Another key to catching fish in cold water is your lure presentation. A slow hop of the spoon and sometimes holding it still just off of the bottom is what will get the most bites. We are catching a lot of magnum size sand bass and it is a great time to learn how and where to catch Lake Ray Roberts white bass and take home a fish fry. I guarantee I send you home with a fish fry of fillets or you get another trip free. Give me a call or send me an email if you want to do some winter fishing on Ray Roberts. I also have Gift Certificates available if you need a Christmass Gift for someone. Not many people fish in Winter so my calendar stays pretty clear and I am always ready to go on a moments notice.
Merry Christmas,
Tim
