All the boats on the lake chasing the fish today made them scatter like cockroaches when you turn on the light. Not much action to be had with lures for me and bait reigned as king once again. If I could find fish on a ledge with no one else around to motor by me I could anchor out and make them bite and they would stay with me longer and I could sit there with a steady pick for a while. Most of my fish came off bait on anchor in 30-45ft on the ledges. We did catch some good fish off of slabs but there was not a lot of action to be had. My customers only wanted to keep 10 fish and release the rest which was a relief to me since all we were catching were 20"+ fish. We caught a lot of nice fish in the 5-8lb range. Since I was using circle hooks I was able to turn nearly all of them loose.
