Spring Fishing has been great for us. Trout fishing has been exceptional with a lot of fish in all sizes. Bass Assasins rigged on light Jig Heads have been the most productive. Corkie's, Cory Devil's and 51 series miro-lures have also produced a good number of trout. A lot of our action has come late in the day into the dark. We have been wading/drifting over Scattered Shell, Mud and Soft sand in 2-5 water.
The Drum run has officially kicked off. We've seen 15-45 fish a trip from 20-60 pounds. I've been concentrating on deeper water from 30-50 feet. The Bullreds have been showing their faces here and there as well. I've seen a bunch of big smiles coming from the clients who have been with me on these trips battling these bruiser fish, which makes me happy.
The fishing should only get better as the weather warms up into April. We will start doing more drifting towards the end of the month. The shrimp will start moving in about two-three more weeks which will makes the fish a little easier to predict from day to day. The Drum fishing will be steady into Mid-April.
I have quite a few openings through the end of the month for boat Drum and Bay Trips. Give me a call if you would like to inquire about booking a trip or visit my web site at REAVESOUTFITTERS.COM.
