After (way too) much effort, we are pleased to announce the official "live" launch of (EKF) www.EvergladesKayakFishing.com!

The road here was long and a bit bumpy, but we kept diligently moving forward. We have added a second kayak transport boat, the Yak Attack 2, some great captains & guides, over 20 new kayaks and four kayak trailers to the fleet.

With the Yak Attacks and the trailers, we can offer kayak anglers a wide variety of fishing experiences in Everglades National Park, the 10,000 Islands and Big Cypress National Preserve. You can sight fish laid up snook on the flats one day, cast to rolling tarpon in a remote back country creek the next and catch large mouth bass and Oscars on fly the third.

This next year, we are pleased to continue to outfit some very unique camping/kayak trips here in the Everglades. However, we are also outfitting "Special Destination " trips to the Lower Florida Keys, the Marquesas Keys and South Biscayne Bay for bonefish, permit and tarpon. In May we will be in South Andros, Bahamas fishing for bonefish, June in Homosassa Springs for some of Florida largest tarpon and in July on a houseboat on the Suwannee River. Anyone interested in kayak fishing for wolf fish, red tails, peacock bass and tarpon in Surinam?

This all comes about from lot of hard work, but most of al,l from the continued support of our anglers. Vickie and I would like to thank every one of you.

The sport of kayak fishing has come a long way and I think EKF is a simply a reflection of what is going on in the sport today.

Please do take a look at the site. There is more work to do, but for the most part it is together. I am sure that there are errors to be corrected. As you find them, please PM or email me so we can get things corrected.

Tight Lines and Good Times are ahead!

Thanks.

Capt. Charles Wright

Bio: Capt. Charles Wright is a professional fishing guide, outdoor writer and naturalist. With four different boats and a fleet of outfitted fishing kayaks, anglers are able to experience all the fishing opportunities that the Everglades National Park and the 10,000 Islands have to offer. He grew up in South Florida and the Keys and has fished the Park since 1972. Schooled as an environmental engineer, an FAA Certified Flight Instructor and US Coast Guard Captain, he left the consulting business and moved to Everglades City after hurricane Andrew. Using a small private plane, he regularly scouts the area for new fishing grounds and offers a unique "on top" perspective to area. Charles regularly fishes the Florida Keys, Tampa Bay, Miami and the Bahamas, but he maintains fishing the Everglades City and Chokoloskee area is the best this State has to offer.
