LAKE RAY ROBERTS FISHING REPORT:
I took a week off, last week, for a vacation so this report is from fishing today only. Lake Ray Roberts is still down 7 feet from normal and all boat ramps are open. Water temperature was 42 degrees on the main lake. In water this cold all my trips are for white bass only. Today we caught 68 sand bass (white bass) and the average size was very good. Cotton Cordell CC Spoon ¾ oz. chrome was the best bait and has been for me all winter. The fish are on all of the structure, humps, roadbeds, points, ridges and dropoffs, where they have been all fall and winter. In water this cold finding active fish that will bite is a challenge. Caught most fish today 30ft. to 34ft. The north point at the mouth of Johnson Branch and a roadbed dropoff south of Wolf Island was the best areas today. The bites are really light this time of year and using light line and a sensitive rod are a must to catch these cold water sandbass.
Have a good fishing week,
Tim
