The fishing this past week has been solid as far as the Trout go. They are bunched up on the deeper drops in the ICW. When you find them you will usually catch at least 2 dozen or so.
A lot of the fish are small but there are plenty of keeper fish mixed in. Once I find them my favorite bait is the 4 inch white body with a green curl tail plastic on a quarter ounce jig head. I can't say it enough how important it is to work it as SLOW as you can along the bottom.
There are still plenty of Reds in the creeks but the larger ones are a hard bite. The Rat reds will always feed. Just work a shrimp on a jig head around the oyster mounds and once you find them there will be plenty. Even the small Reds provide good action this time of year.
The Drum are stacked up in some creeks off the ICW. Most of the fish are in the 2 to 4lb range and are a total blast to catch on light tackle. Fresh dead shrimp will work every time…
As far as I can tell the Flounder have made there move. You will still catch a few here and there but no real concentration of the door mats!
