Tunatime Sportfishing Report by Capt Sal Campanile/ Monday 08-25-08
We're catching lots of yellowfin tuna in the 30 ' 100 lbs class at both El Banco and Roca Corbetena as well as in between and beyond the two popular fish magnets . Slow trolling goggle eyes is a good bet , along with drifting over the sea mounts with baits on top , deep, and under the kite . Small skippies are money when we can get the smaller ones ( 1 ' 4 lbs ) . On Sunday we had a huge yellowfin miss our kite bait twice.. as she came completely out of the water.....ALL 300+lbs OF HER!!! She never came back for a third swing and we had to run in since the weather was turning real ugly . Some very big sailfish and black marlin have been in the mix , as well as the always aggressive and voracious pargo 'big pargo . Lots of big rainbow runners out there too '..great for your favorite seviche recipes . We've been catching dorado closer to shore just a few miles off of Punta Mita along with some very BIG sailfish . The best bet for big roosters right now is also around the point from Litibu up to Sayulita . The weather has really been great , the seas calm ( except for a few random storms ) , and there's plenty of action around here with BIGGER TUNA MOVING IN EVERY DAY ! The world record is right here and up for grabs !! Call us or email us at WWW.TUNATIMESPORTFISHING.COM and we'll hook you up with the fishing trip of a lifetime !!!
