Fishing Report 9/13//11
So the Mahi-Mahi are here. Better late than never. We have been steadily picking at them the last few weeks. Most of the bite has been occuring between 500 and 900 feet just east of Key Largo. Most fish are either taking rigged ballyhoo or deep diving lures. Once around your boat have plenty of bait available and you should have fun catching. Remember there is no need to be greety as 10 small dolphin will yield plenty of food to go around. The other good thing going on has been the yellowtail snapper bite. We have been consistently hitting the reef before we go offshore. While waiting for the bait to show up we will catch a few for the dinner table. While we do this we also have a bottom road down with either a ballyhoo plug or a small yellowtail snapper hoping to get the occasional Black or Red Grouper. So all in all fishing has been good for us this past month.
