Now is as good a time as any to come fish the waters of North-Central WI with us! Walleye fishing was still excellent over the weekend, with every trip resulting in catches of limits of walleyes. Livebait has worked well with nightcrawlers seemingly the 'meat' of choice for the time being. While the average size is very respectable in the upper teens, fish into the mid twenty inch range are available on a daily basis.
The smallmouth bite has also been very good with a variety of lure selections producing action during the day light hours.
Lipless style crankbaits such as PT Pro Rattlers and in-line spinners like a Mepps Aglia or Aglia Long have been working well. Musky action has been good during the early or late portions of the day; speed has been a trigger as of late. Try burning an orange or chartreuse Mepps Giant Killer for some aggressive strikes. Noisy topwater lures such as Topraiders have also been working.
Tight lines,
