This past week was a little bit of a struggle with weather. We had another cold front hit us here in New Smyrna Beach which brought along some strong north west winds and cool temperatures. The bite was just starting to get good before the front and then slacked off as the front moved through. After the front the bite returned twice fold with redfish, trout, black drum and even some smaller snook coming boat side. Unfortunately we are staring down another mild front passing through this week but on the bright side the weather looks to be great the latter part of the week. We still have some good numbers of schools throughout Mosquito Lagoon and the New Smyrna Beach area. We also have good numbers of trout holding on the ledges and in the pot holes preparing for the spring time spawn. Shrimp and live finger mullet have been the go to live baits and ADL spoons or soft plastics have been working well for artificial's. As far as water clarity it has been outstanding and in some cases to clean making fish very cautious about their surroundings. If you run into this situation slow down a little and make low and long cast to prevent a shadow from over head.
Good luck and be safe!
