SAM RAYBURN: Well it was a great week with some really great clients, catching about 20 Bass per day up to about 4 lbs. No real Giants this week/ The last cold front had moved them out to staging areas. The FLW Stren Series was going on from 19-21st. this week also.
This great weather has gotten the water temps back up to the upper 60's and low 70's. We should another Big wave of spawners fan out on the flats and post spawners will be off of the deeper water getting fattened back up and healing up from the spawn.
Bass mostly were caught this week on red rattle traps and spinnerbaits in white/chartruse combos with double willow leaf blades. This warmer water will bring a great plastic bite on Senko type baits,crawworms, and lizards. LAKE PALESTINE: The Lake is ready for some great fishing with Bass up to 6 lbs. coming to the bass boat. Clients enjoyed some slow but steady action with about 30 Bass comming to the boat a day.
Spinnerbaits in White or Chartruse or combos of both were catching as well as Twin tailed grubs in Watermelon rigged Texas Style with a small bullet weight. Senko Type baits like Nichols salty mother Sinker and Phantom's Stinko worked well in your watermelon colors and the Natural for Phantom. Zoom trick worms in Green Pumpkin with Chartruse Tail and Watermelon Pearl Caught Bass also up to 5 Lbs. Bass are up shallow in the backs of coves around wood and vegetation spawning and feeding.
