Fishing remains good off of Miami still. We have been catching plenty of dolphin, kingfish, and tuna. There have also been some sailfish still around so we have been having fun with them too. We have been catching the dolphin anywhere from the edge in about 100ft of water all the way out to 1100ft of water. They have been mostly nice fish in the 5-15lb range, but there have been quite a few fish this week between 30 and 40lbs. The kingfish and tunas have mostly been in about 130ft of water. They have been eating pilchards and herring on both the kite and flatlines. So far spring fishing has been great to us this yr.

Last week I had the pleasure of fishing the Miami Raft Invitational with Capt Ray Rocher, mates Kelly, Ozzy, Ryan and myself. We left Miami Bch Marina at about 12:30 pm and ran to the south end of Key Biscayne. We ended up in second place going 1-2 on sailfish, catching 2 tunas in the 20lb range, and a kingfish about 10lbs. We ended up taking second place. Congrats to Seth and Roger on the Scatterbrain for taking 1st place! It was a ton of fun and all the proceeds went to a great cause!

With summer almost here we are starting to book up pretty solid with Bahamas trips. You can't beat catching fish all day in paradise then heading back into the resorts or hotels for a few cold drinks and some great food. Our first trip is planned for June 10th. Its a 2 day Bimnin trip. We are going to be mainly bottom fishing. Last yr we had quite a few great trips with one really standing out. We caught over 30 mutton snappers, plenty of yellowtail, lots of jacks, and some really nice groupers. We also played with a few sharks when the fishing was slow. Its always a great time over there. On the way over we saw 5 large pilot whales just cruising their way north. So call and book your trips soon because the dates will book up fast! Here are a few pics from last yrs trips!

Tightlines,

Capt Joe
