It's not just the weather that is hot right now in Biscayne Bay, the fishing is too. With slick calm conditions and strong tides this week, the bonefish and permit have been very active and feeding very well. Over the last two days I've seen well over 300 bones and dozens of permit. Here is a shot of Scott and his son Alex with a Biscayne Bay permit. Nothing in light tackle sight fishing beats casting to tailing and feeding permit in slick clam conditions. On our first stop of the morning we had numerous shots at cruising permits in slicked out conditions. With tempered excitement Scott made a great cast to one big permit and after a brief hook up the fish spit the half eaten crab. A few shots later Scott would redeem himself by making a perfect cast to two fish coming right at us. Moments later he felt the subtle tap of a permit take and we were off to the races.

This is a great time to fish Biscayne Bay, the weather is hot, the fishing is hotter and the conditions are great for the next week. Take advantage of the tides, get out there and make that drag scream!
