Milwaukee Fishing Salmon Reports September 21st 2010
By Capt. Jim Hirt
The action and report has not changed at all. Most of our charters trips are in the gaps and out to 50 feet of water The gaps are on most days. Good numbers on all size and age of fish. Overcast days are best and sunny day are slower. Get out at first light for the best action. We are catching Chinooks to 18 pounds Lake Trout to 10 with lots of all size Browns we had two over 15 pounds yesterday. Also large Coho Salmon.
Come on out for a nice mixed bag. On the high lines (2,3,4 and 6 color lead core) the Vulcan regular size Dolphin Green Silver and Reaper regular Big Joe are picking up most of our fish in fifty feet of water. The Magnum Peacock and Fish n Chip have been my go to spoons on overcast days and fishing the harbor. The best depths for downriggers have been 8, 15, and 30 feet. Speed up to 2.1 when working the Kings slow down for Lake Trout. To see my how to video fish report go to http://www.jimhirt.com
Slide Divers with 40 feet of line out are also working with magnum Reaper Peacock or Fish n Chip spoons. Glow spoons have also been working all day long in the magnum size like the Reaper Fish Fry.
