The smelts are still very plentiful on both shores and are almost up to the Upper Blackville bridge. I saw a lot of salmon jumping today from Hogan's Pool all the way to the Upper Blackville bridge. I did not hook a one! Nor did I see anyone else with any on.
There were a few fish landed in the Blissfield area yesterday as well. I got the report late last night on that. Down towards Quarryville today was also slow and anglers are wondering what's going on. That's fishing I guess!
Late in the spring season the spring fish have that one thing on there mind and that's returning to the ocean to feed. Just maybe if we get clear of all the smelts the fish will start taking a little better again on a cast which they normally do this time of year.
Soon we will have to deal with catching Sea Trout, Shad and Silver Salmon fresh from the sea? That's going to be tuff! Ha! I can't wait. I will keep you posted as soon as I see the first one. I would also like to here from you if you get the first one.
It was a great day on the water with no wind. I saw a few Eagles flying over and a Osprey with a fish in his claws, he was the only angler that I saw with a fish! Ducks and beavers are very plentiful as well up and down the river, and Muskrats swimming everywhere.
Well all for today and I hope you enjoyed today's report even though the fish catch is down.
