The 7 day forecast is very nice fishing conditions over the next week, with showers and cloudy periods along with some warm temperature's from 12C to 24C.
Reports for fishing up and down the river are there is some Sea Trout being hooked in the Quarryville area and the White Rapids. Some reports of a bright fish (silver) being seen at a couple different sections of the river, which is always nice to here. I saw a fish jump last night but could not make out for sure if it was a bright one or not? I tried several flies over him but no interest in the flies I tried.
I am getting a few trout at the 10 to 14 inch range but are black trout not bright. Most are taking a black ghost streamer and a wood special. I took a few on a black beetle #14 hook. Also a brown bomber number #4 hook. Kenny Vicker's of the Rapid's landed a 3 1/2 pound trout on a green elvis fly, this must be a new pattern? William Basco of Howard landed a 3 pound trout on the Nor West, black ghost streamer. Jeremy Vickers landed a 4 pounder in the white Rapids, not sure of the fly.
The Smelts were in and gone and we are now awaiting the Shad and Gaspereau to come in the river and then the Trout and Salmon should be here if not already here" The fiddle heads are up and that first feed is always a joy to eat with a fresh fish. There has not been much of a hatch on the river yet, and very few black flies are around. But with the warmer weather on its way that will change very soon.
