The water was dirty and now is starting to clear, maybe with the color change in the water conditions we will see the fish start to take from the raise.
The temperature was in the mid 60's today and almost perfect conditions for the lower stretches of the river. The weather over the next 7 days on the Miramichi looks like rain for Tuesday and showers off and on the rest of the week. With high's of 22 C and low's of 17 C during the daytime fishing should make it awesome conditions. Low's of 6 to 14 C for night time conditions during the week.
Tides are 1.30 meters high at 12:57AM for Tuesday the 9th with the sunrise at 6:52 AM. At 2:34 PM the high tide is 0.55 meters. On the 10th there will be a high tide of 1.30 meters high at 2:01 AM and sunrise at 6:53 AM.
The last couple days on the lower stretches fish have been taking wet and dry flies. Anglers have been using Bombers, Green Machines, Taylor Specials, Blue Charms to name a few.
The last week angler's have been complaining about fish not taking up and down the river? The past week we have had some fair fishing not the best but surely not the worst I have seen. I find by trying different approaches at certain times helps when they are not taking. Maybe show them a something crazy like a Green Slime pattern! Or something tiny like a 12 or 14 pattern! Be optimistic about the fish you are about to catch or trying to catch. Try different angles on that favourite rock or lie. Drop a size or two in leader makes a big difference with smaller patterns.
