With opening day of the fishing season on the Miramichi River only a month away on April the 15th the conditions now are looking like the River this year should be a ice free river by opening day as we have had a very mild winter so far and not a lot of snow making for a very good winter in Eastern Canada . With these mild conditions and less snow then normal we are expecting as of now it is looking like a early spring . If conditions good for opening day fishing can be great as the Atlantic Salmon are feeding in the Spring so fishermen have a very high sucess rate in the Sporing Season . Most of the Fishing in Spring is done by fishing from boats with a guide using sinking lines and Streamer flies.
