Fall is here and the variety of fish to catch is making for some very enjoyable trips.
This week we worked the morning out going tides.
As the water level dropped the snook worked there way out of the magroves to eat our freelined sardines.
No huge catches this week but enough snook coming to the boat to keep us busy unhooking.
The occasional reddrum and trout would also end up in the mix.
When the water level would drop to a certain point we would move out of our snook spots so as not to get caught in a creek with no water.
Moving out in the bay we would then target some other species with some really nice mackeral coming boat side.
Most were on the small 16 to 18 inch side but we did have some in the 24" range and a guess of about 4 pounds.
If you have never caught one of these on light tackle you are missing out.
They really make for some very healthy drag ripping runs.
If you want some fish for the smoker nows the time to target mackeral in the bay.
