Chase N' Tails Fishing Charters - Inshore Report -

For the past 2 weeks I have been Chasing a large school of red fish in my area this school is well over 100 fish each time I can get on them we are catching them for hours. Sunday charter was with a repeat client John Krause from Spring Hill the day started off like any other day cast netting live bait for the reds. For the past few day's we have had very low tides making for some really awesome sight fishing for tailing reds. That day we got a lot of reds up to 32" all on cut pin fish along with some trout and a Spanish mackrel. Monday's charter was Lisa & Willie Wilson from Bay Area Custom Builders in Spring Hill, we had about the same real low tide in the morning but it was very windy the wind was out of the SSW at 15+knots all day making for some what of a tough conditions but we did get 11 red fish Lisa got a 24" and a perfect 27" fat red fish to bring home a Willie got a big 26 7/8 red fish as well and the rest of the reds were way over the slot up to 30".

Now we are starting to see are Fall fishing taking place on the Nature Coast the red fish are in large schools along the hole coast look for mullet schools around the mangroves, oyster bars, rock piles, and the hot bait for me is a cut pin fish with a 2 odd circle hook and a 20lb suffix leader. Trout and in 3-8 feet the best way to find trout is to set up a drift you will cover more ground I like to use a 1/4oz mission fishin jig with a white or new penny Gulp Shrimp work the rig on the slow side across the bottom doing this you can also catch Spanish mackrel, blue fish , sea bass, sharks, and cobia. The trout will work there way into the shallow water 1-3 feet and they will school up in large schools I am thinking around the middle of October, the water temperature is dropping and the days are getting shorter all of this is making for great fishing action so book a trip and lets catch a lot of fish.
