April 12
This morning we had a father and daughter team consisting of Lee and Gabby from New Jersey.
We trolled our way down toward the wreck we had been fishing the last few days. On our way down we caught a few bonitos and a couple of black fin tunas.
Once we got to the wreck in came all the trolling gear and we tried a drop on a wreck that lay on the bottom in about 185 feet of water.
Sure enough the second the bait hit the bottom BAM we were Hooked Up. 10 min later up popped this 30 pound amber jack. Well if it worked once what the heck we tried it again and once again BAM another big amber jack.
Lee thanks again and we're looking forward to fishing with you again in a couple of months.
As we got back to the dock we had 2 couples waiting on us.
We had Kay and Ronnie from Austin Texas and Cindy Kent from Garden City Texas.
We had good north current today along with deep blue water so we decided to set out our kites with 4 live baits suspended from them.
After a bit of waiting along came our first sailfish and we were Hooked Up. But RATS after a couple of jumps he spit the hook flipped us the fin and swam off.
Ok at least we knew there were some sails around so right back out went the baits and soon enough another sail popped up and once again we were Hooked up but RATS and double RATS again we jumped him off.
We did manage to stay Hooked Up with a nice 15-pound king fish so Kay kept the skunk out of the box for us.
Guys we'll looking forward to fishing with you guys again on Thursday and we will get even with those pesty sails. (LOL)

April 13
Today we had Brenda Gale from New England, Bob from Gillette Wyoming, Rob and his son Colman from Olivia Ma and Dave from Killeen Texas.
Once again we trolled our way to the same wreck we have been fishing all week only this time on our way down trolling was producing lots of fish with everyone catching king fish all the way down and once we got to the wreck the big amber jacks were biting reel good.
Instead of me writing about what everyone caught just take a look at these pictures.

April 14
Today we had Kent and his wife Cindy back aboard after 2 sailfish got away from them on Tuesday so today it was get even time.
We started out trolling our way to the south off the cost of Hallandale Beach Florida. We were trolling with 3 lines down deep and 3 more baits skipping across the surface.
I must admit trolling was not producing many fish but every now and than we would pull in a bonito but that was about all we were catching tolling TILL J.J. came up on the fly bridge with me and we were talking about what we could try next?
We were trolling in 120 feet of water and we both noticed a sailfish jumping way inside of where we were trolling. At this point I went down stairs for a soda and when I came back up on the bridge J.J. had spotted this sail fish swimming down sea with just the tip of his tail sticking out of the water. J.J. kept trying to point him out to me but I just could not get an eye on him. I said well since you see him put me on him! I ran down stairs grabbed a spinning rod and quickly hooked on a live bait. J.J. yelled out cast it at 2 o'clock about 30 feet behind the boat. So I casted where J.J. had told me. It only took about 2 seconds for J.J. to yell down that the fish had already swam past my bait. I thought that was pretty funny because something had picked up the bait and was swimming off with it. I locked up the reel and started reeling like mad and all at once out came this big sailfish jumping all over the place. We were Hooked Up there must have been more than one fish there.
I handed the rod off to Kent and the fight was on.
Now bare in mind we got Hooked Up with all these other lines still out there. I had Cindy start to help me clearing the other lines and she had something on the line she was clearing but within seconds the line went slack and she went back to taking pictures of Kent fighting his fish.
Meanwhile I was reeling like a mad man and once I got to the last rod I had to clear it must have sunk down deep because once I started pulling in the 65 foot long leader I noticed it was heavy and son of a gun I had a fish on the other end.
It turned out to be a 5-pound mutton snapper. (Hell Yea we'll take it any way we can get it)
Once we had all the lines cleared Kent reeled his sailfish to the side of the boat for a few quick pictures and we watched him swam away in great shape.
Ok now things were looking up. By this point we were at the wreck we were heading toward in the first place.
Down went the first bait the rod bent over and line started screaming off the reel. We were Hooked Up again and this time Cindy jumped in the chair and the fight was on. This was a BIG back and forth tug a war for a good 25 min but at last up popped this 70 to 80 pound amber Jack. Way to hang in there Cindy.
Well os it worked once what the heck down went another live bait and once again the rod bent over and now Kent found himself back in the fighting chair. Soon there after up popped another amber jack this one being 30 to 40 pounder.
What a fun day of deep-sea fishing off the coast of Fort Lauderdale with both Cindy and Kent aboard the Hooked Up.
We ended up with 1 king fish 6 or 7 bonitos 2 big amber jacks and one nice sailfish. Not a bad way to spend the day.

April 15 TAX Day
Today we had Jim from Lansdale P.A. and Mike from Eagleville P.A. Dwayne from Kansas City and Brain from Georgia.
We started out trolling but only caught a king fish and one Spanish mackerel.
Ok so trolling was slow so in came all the trolling gear and out went the Kites with live baits suspended from them along with a couple of shark baits down deep.
It took a bit of waiting but at last one of the big shark rods bent over and we were Hooked Up.
Jim jumped in the chair and the fight was on. After a good 15 min Jim got his 5-foot hammerhead shark to the side of the boat. J.J. managed to get 2 out of the 3 hooks out of him and he swam away in great shape.
