Great weather and low winds have resulted in some awsome sight casting on the mosquito lagoon. Early morning tailers and small groups of 10-20 fish are feeding agressively on soft plastic lures and topwater plugs. The water level has finally started to rise and many fish are finding their secret holes to feed in in the back country. One thing really unique to this is that most of these fish are not fished everyday by the regular grind and pound, bump and run circus. This means that these fish can be caught on artificial and more than often fly as they are not weary from being chased with trolling motors or being hit in the head with a chunk of mullet.

Fish Species: Redfish
Bait Used: artificial soft plastic jerk baits
Tackle Used: 10lb spinning
Method Used: sight casting
Water Depth: 1-3ft
Water Temperature: 72 to 80 degrees
Wind Direction: sw
Wind Speed: 5kts
