Smith Lake

February 18th, 2011

After starting this week with a bang, I figured I owed the fish a little sacrifice. I've been growing my beard and hair to stay warmer in the winter.  With winter coming to an end, I figured I'd make my girlfriend happy on clean up. But before I shaved it off,  I had a little fun with it.  So yesterday the "Mohawk Maniac" hit the water. I took a couple pictures from the days fishing that will be on my website this evening. Now to the fishing, I started around Misty Harbor and boat a couple fish as the sun was coming up. They where all over the place, we caught fish in depths from 5 feet deep to 30 feet deep in the early morning.  After that I headed to Goat Island, upon arriving I work my way to the back side of the Island.  I stayed there till11:00 and caught fish, working the area close to the docks. Most of the fish where in the middle of the back side.  The fish were close to the bottom and most were caught in about 40 feet of water. If your on the water over the weekend, either spot should pay off good. We caught double digits yesterday and used artifices all day.  Make sure to checkout my new article on Venom Lures "Pay Me" Rig, it should be called the "Clone Me".

So if your interested in fishing Smith Lake give me a call.
