This is the time of year that separates the men from the boys . Now that the fish aren't at the easy places to find ( la corbetena and el banco ) , are you willing to do what it takes to find them ? We do, and it's been paying off big . Fuel up , study the sst charts, and get out there where the blue water and big temperature breaks are...and you will find the birds and the fish . On our last 8 charters we averaged over 150 miles per trip , we find the bounty, fill the fish boxes , and we're all alone out there !! Multiple quad hook-ups on yellowfin tuna , sailfish , striped marlin and lots of heavy dorados . If you spot them , get out in front of the big schools of spinner dolphin , slow troll a couple of goggle eyes , work the jigs down deep underneath them , and get ready to score on hungry yellowfin ! Troll small jet - head feathers at a good pace ( 6 - 10 mph ) through the color changes and under the birds , keep a marauder in the short corner - and get ready for a chinese fire drill ! ALWAYS , ALWAYS , keep one rod ready with the pitch bait of your choice - big dorado , sailfish , and marlin will eventually buzz your tower out there and you only get one shot at them so be ready !!!!
Inshore has been great for roosters and jacks but a little inconsistent .
Catch fish , have fun , and buena suerte !!
