Chase N' Tails Fishing Charters- Scallop Report

Boy the scallops are thick North of Bay port to Chazz. The scallops are in deeper water 6-8 feet I like to find the short grass with sand holes mixed in, there are some in the tall turtle grass but a little harder to find. I had a scallop trip this Wednesday and we limited out in just 3 hours thats pretty good despite last year. Make sure you are flying the divers down flag while swimmers are in the water. Also keep your catch on ice to stay fresh and the ice makes the scallops to open up and easier to clean at the end of the day. You can use spoons to get the scallops clean but i use a shop vac just take out the filter then have 3 people to make things easier, have one person pop open the scallop, the second person use the shop vac to suck up the guts, and the third person scrapes them into a bowl. I find this is the quickest way to clean scallops. Also a good anti fog remedy for your mask is plain white tooth paste, wet your mask with water then put a little dab in each lens, rub around and rinse. Trust me it works. And no white water with in 300 feet of any vessel with a divers down flag up.

Good Luck
