Fishing with Ken Weinstein from North Florida on January 4th it was all about catching a Red fish or two'
Ken is a very avid angler and loves to catch Reds and I can't blame him because they are a lot of fun to catch in the back waters. We were working a very low tide so locating the Reds was easy to do but making them eat was the challenge'
This time of year can be tricky on the decent Red fish. You almost have to time them perfectly because in the colder water they do not feed near as much as they do when it is warm'
Anybody that stalks Reds in North Florida knows how it can be when you move from one school of Reds to another throwing every thing you have at them trying to get a bite!!!
We were in several schools of nice fish in the 5 to 7 pound range and Ken was making as good a cast as you can with several different baits but it was not working. So you just keep moving until you hopefully hit a school that is ready to play.
That's exactly what we did and after 3 hours of working fish and moving we hit a school of Reds that were READY!!!
I think we caught six in the five to seven pound range and made all the hard work well worth it.
Thanks for a greet time Ken and I look forward to fishing with you again in the near future.
