Fall is just days away on the Indian River and Mosquito Lagoon, late summer fishing has been good with patterns holding with the dry weather keep water levels low as they have been last few months. The first glimpse of the fall mullet run has begun, schools of bait fish are appearing in the intracoastal waterway along with migrating gamefish, jack crevalle, bluefish, and more move south as autumn begins, making for great fun catch and release action with bigger schools of game fish in our waters. Surface striking activity makes for great sight fishing, as does the challenging lagoon flats fishing action of tailing Redfish which has been happening all summer on the shallow grass flats, quiet approach and accurate casts result in hookups on Reds feeding on shrimp in the grass. When not tailing in the grass, Reds and large Seatrout are chasing small bait fish near off the edges and drop offs. Long time regular client Ron from Ohio did a solo flats fishing trip recently, early Redfish targeting successful with 3 spotails up to 32", then off to Seatrout fishing with live bait catching a bunch of specks................................

Jerry from Nashville here visiting brought his granddaughter on another trip with me, we caught Redfish, Seatrout, and a couple Snook by Ilanit completed a Mosquito Lagoon Slam for her.....................

Repeat client Rolando from Orlando recently did 2 trips with me to the Lagoon, one of the days with his son Nick who was home on leave, we caught lots of slot size Trout as well as a 30" Redfish.......................
