The Billingsgate Shoals are covered with bait. We worked the area with the rigs and some jigging on the 4 hour trip. We found plenty of bluefish action with a few small bass in the mix. Our anglers were students at Bentley University from Kuwait and experienced international fisherman. Their last excursion was fishing for yellowfin tuna off of South Africa. I was curious to see how they would react to Cape Cod Bay fishing. It didn't take long to get my answer. After landing three bluefish on a single rig, the angler looked up at me on the bridge and, with a big grin, signaled a thumbs up.

There's been no sign that the bass have started to leave the Bay yet. We are seeing the same fish in the same areas. The bigger bass are being taken to the West off of Sandy Neck. A fair mix of bass and blues are off the Bath House.

There's still plenty of bait in the Bay. We should have some outstanding fishing within the next few weeks as the fish feed up for their move South. It should be a great end of a fantastic season.
