The fishing in the Lagoon is the best it gets this time of the year. The winds are low enough for the Fly fishers and the temps are still warm enough for the Reds to be very active on the open flats. The water levels start to drop and the fish move up onto the skinny water and tail with half of their back out of the water.

Big Trout will also move up on the flats and sit in the sand holes off the edges of the the grass and ambush their prey. This is the best time to take a real trophy on top water, if an exploding bite on top water does nothing for you then by all means "don't come do this" !

The Light Tackle spinning is absolutely on fire while site casting a live shrimp to the Reds on the flats. The water is gin clear and the fish are easily spotted from 50 feet away. A perfect cast 10 feet in front of them and placed into the path its taking will surely get a strike.

This time of the year I love catching Flounder on the flats in the Lagoon. It is the best time to get a Lagoon slam of a Red, Trout and Flounder. The fish can be from small to some what large ( 1 pound to 5 pounds) and will take a live Shrimp and a soft plastic as well.

Snook fishing is hot in the Southern part of our county around the Sebastian area. The best is on live baits on an out going tide around the bridge and inlet. Spoil Islands edges are holding nice fish as well, look for the the bait schools and cast on the edges of them with top water lures as well.

Good Luck on the water and for any questions you can call me at 407-432-5138 or check out my web site for more daily reports at www.flataddicted.com or www.orlando-fishing.com
